Yekini's Family Gets Amosun's N2 Million

As Governor Urges Eagles, Falcons To Make Nigerians ProudTHE Ogun State Government has donated the sum of two million naira to the family of late Nigeria soccer star, Rashidi Yekini.The donation was made in Ibadan during the fidau prayer marking the forty days of the demise of the former African player of the year.The late Yekini played his last competitive football for Ogun State-owned soccer outfit, Gateway United FC, in the 2005 Nigeria Premier League season.Announcing the donation on behalf of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, the General Manager of Gateway FC, Gboyega Okegbenro, said the donation was in appreciation of Yekini's contribution to the growth of football in Ogun State and Nigerian in general.Governor Amosun also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant Yekini Aljana fidau.Meanwhile, Senator Amosun has urged the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons to win their different Nations Cup qualifiers this weekend in emphatic fashion.In a statement yesterday by the Press Officer of the State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Rotimi Oduniyi, the Governor urged the Super Eagles to deal ruthlessly with the Amavubi of Rwanda to qualify for the next stage of the 2013 African Nations Cup qualifier billed for South Africa.Amosun, who praised Coach Stephen Keshi for the success recorded so far in his re-building process, urged the Super Eagles to show faith in their coach and bring smiles to millions of Nigerians by beating the Rwandans convincingly in Calabar.He also urged the Super Falcons led by coach Kadiri Ikhana to consolidate on their 2-0 away victory in Harare by beating the Zimbabwean silly today at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
