D'Tigers rounds off Olympics training in China

NIGERIA'S senior men basketball team, D'Tigers, will tomorrow round off its training tour of China where the coach Ayo Bakare-tutored side played six build-up games ahead of the London 2012 Olympics qualifying tournament slated for July 2 to 8 in Caracas, Venezuela.The Nigerian team, which is aiming to make its first ever appearance at the Olympics, began its build up with quick wins over Foshan Long Lions Basketball Club in three games - 84-54, 74-47 and 110-67 points.Nigeria, which will take on basketball power-house, Lithuania, and South American strong side and host, Venezuela, in Group B of the qualifiers, also defeated Fujian Quanzhou Bank Basketball Club 84-56 points and Shanxi Zhongyu 94-80 points.The team will also take on Great Britain's national team in Houston, United States, on Thursday before honouring a 4-nation tourney from June 25 to 30 in Brazil, where it will play against Greece, Brazil and New Zealand before heading for Caracas.
