Soyode, great woman of faithCleric

OTUNBA Ayo Soyode, daughter of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, was, on Thursday, described as a great woman of faith, whose trust in God remained unshaken, even while she was critically ill.The Vicar, Obafemi Awolowo Memorial Anglican Church (OAMAC), Ikenne Remo, Ogun State, Canon S.T. Adeoye, said this during a commendation service organised by the church and held in it.Canon Adeoye, in a short exhortation entitled, She is worthy for whom this should be done, said he marvelled at the demonstration of strong faith in the word of God by the late Iyalode of the church during his conversations with her, before she joined the saints triumphant.The cleric lauded Otunba Soyode for positively affecting her generation while alive, stressing that the beauty of life was not about its length but in the number of achievements ascribable to an individual.According to him, Otunba Soyode spent her life ministering to the needs of the church and humanity, adding that  she had also made up with those she either offended or who wronged her before death came knocking.He, therefore, charged people to spend their lifetimes and resources on worthy godly ventures through which they could store great riches for themselves in heaven.The only lesson of the service was read by the Bishop of Remo Anglican Diocese, The Right Reverend Olusina Fape, who led all the priests in the diocese to the service, with his wife, Toyin.Others at the service included Sir Olaniwun Ajayi, representatives of the Akarigbo of Remoland; eminent personalities, wives of the clerics, as well as members of OAMAC church.
