Beauty in the eyes of Olabisi

OLABISI Olaitan Obasusi is the creative director of Labeez Makeovers, Ikeja, Lagos. The HND holder in Banking and Finance from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, on leaving school, enrolled at the House of Tara to hone her skills.Thereafter, she worked at Murhi International Television (MITV), as a professional makeup artist. While on the job, she worked as a freelancer for Goldfish with Dammy on Galaxy TV and Mr. Taiye Ige of Hot Sports before setting up hers in 2008.On the motivation to start her business, the Ondo State-native says, 'I wanted to work in a bank or in the oil sector; however, along the line, while in secondary school, I began to like fashion. Before going fully into makeup, I had a stint in bead making for a month; I also make hand fans for brides.'She informs that, 'I got my business name Labeez from my own name, Olabisi.'What does she consider when making up her clients''Before I touch a client's face, I look at the texture of the face, skin type, skin structure, the foundation that will accentuate the face and products that will work well without reactions,' she says.On what keeps her above others, she stresses, 'the way I handle my clients, humility, punctuality and the different headgear styles I do for them give me the cutting edge.'Olabisi, whose favourite products are Mac, Loreal, Iman, Maybelline and Flori Roberts, gives tips on how to achieve a smooth makeover.' Cleanse the face to remove dirt, get good eye shadow, eyeliner, lipstick and lip-gloss, also, you need a good powder for the face and a concealer to cover the spots in the facial area. After this, start makeup application.
