Onipepeye residents bemoanneglect

BUT for the hope that tomorrow may be alright, residents of Onipepeye, a rural settlement on the SagamuAbeokuta expressway under the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State,  would have shunned Tuesdays governorship and House of Assembly elections.The residents of the community, while speaking with Community News, lamented their age-long neglect by  successive governments both at the state and local government levels in the state.Baale of Onipepeiye, Chief Adekunle Diyaolu, bemoaned the communitys lack of social amenities such as pipe-borne water, electricity, good roads and health centre, adding that the only primary school, Onipepeye Primary School, in the community was dilapidated and only being maintained by communal efforts.We woul not have come out to vote today because we have long been neglected. Every four years, we vote for them but nothing comes back to us as we dont even have ordinary potable water for survival, the Baale stated, adding that life with them was just miserable.The residents, who abhor the rearing of poultry in their domain, called on the incoming government in Ogun State to remember them when distributing dividends of democracy.
