EUROPEAN champion, Chelsea hopes to land Nigerian international, Victor Moses with a 10 million (about N2.5billion) juicy offer, Tribunesports gathered yesterday.Former Nigerian defender, Michael Emenalo, on Monday convinced Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich that Moses will fit in with Roman's preference of youthful addition to the squad described as ageing and the Russian is poised to invest in the forward who played a great role in keeping Wigan in the top-flight last season.During his international duties with Nigeria last week, Moses insisted he was committed to the Super Eagles when asked to comment on offers on his table and now with the June qualifiers settled, the player is addressing his club future. The 21-year-old has just one year left on his contract at Wigan Athletic and is due to negotiate with the club as offers come in.Meanwhile, a host of other English Premier League clubs namely Liverpool, Arsenal, QPR and Newcastle has also shown interest but only Chelsea have named its price. The Blues also hope that with the intervention of Emenalo, it will be less difficult to convince Moses to play for Chelsea. Wigan boss, Dave Whelan has admitted Moses could leave in view of being in top demand but that the price has to be right. On Monday night, Chelsea had tabled a 4m bid which Whelan scoffed at, telling Moses and his agent that with that kind of offer, he would be dumped in the reserves at Stamford Bridge.''We have offered him a new contract but it seems the agent, more than the player, wants to move him on, at least that is the impression we are getting.''It cannot be for the player's good. Victor Moses needs another year or two before moving to a club like Chelsea. He needs games and he won't be first choice at Chelsea, I wouldn't have thought, '' he told the ESPN.Whelan also stated that Wigan coach, Roberto Matinez, will not be willing to let the player go with a year left on the contract of a player he bought from Crystal Palace.''We don't need to sell him with 12 months to go on his contract because he is under 24 so wouldn't be going on a free transfer. Martinez has brought this player on and he needs at least another year with Roberto to become a top player.Tribunesports reports that Wigan signed Moses from Crystal Palace in 2010 on a 2.5m contract.
