Contractors handling road projects in Kogi get marching order

THE Kogi State Government has said it will have no option but to sanction any of the contractors handling its road projects but failed to abide to specification and quality.Captain Idris Wada gave the warning while inspecting work on the on going 30.55km Okene-Kabba and Iyara township roads.The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Yomi Awoniyi, said it would no longer be business as usual for contractors in the state who did shoddy work and frowned at the poor quality of work so far carried out by the contractor handling the Iyara township roads, but however, gave a pass mark to the two others, urging them to sustain the good quality work so far carried out.The deputy governor who was visibly angry, restated the premium placed on quality by the present administration and urged the contractors to ensure that government gets value for its money, while assuring the contractors of prompt payment to enable the timely completion of the road projects.
