Life becoming cheap in Nigeria -Kukah

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Hassan Kukah, said yesterday that life is becoming cheap in Nigeria, adding that the citizens were running out of ideas and time.Speaking at the National Summit on the Freedom of Information Act, which opened yesterday in Abuja, Kukah said even though President Goodluck Jonathan might not be responsible for the problem but the key is with him.Kukah was speaking against the background of Sunday's bomb attacks on three churches in Kaduna and Zaria and the reprisals.'Nigeria is running out of time, those who are pushing us are determined to have war. Many of us who have been voices of restraint no longer know what to say,' he said.He mentioned that making Nigeria more marketable requires ordinary Nigerians, adding that Nigeria has lost its glory and that it would require more than prayers to redeem its glory.Declaring the seminar open, Information Minister Labaran Maku described the Freedom of Information Act as revolutionary than the EFCC. He said that his ministry was prepared to work with everyone on the act.Maku said that the security situation in the country was very complex, adding that it was difficult to understand how a fellow Nigerian would blow himself using an expensive jeep.
