The Inspiring Brililance Foundation has solicited for media support in its programme aimed at educating the Nigerian youths on how best they can be useful for themselves and the country at large.Speaking with newsmen in Ibadan on the foundation's programme, its President, Mr.Kolawole Beyioku, said that since 2010, the foundation had been organising poetry competition with a view to educating the youth on the essence of poetry which he said included music, dancing and arts.He recalled that in 2011, there was little support from the media, saying that this year, the proramme was going to be big with the inclusion of great inter school debate for both private and public schools in the state capital, Ibadan, and public speeches for students of tertiary institutions. He disclosed that the final of the competition would be held in November, 2012 at the University of Ibadan. While noting that trials for the competition had commenced with the inter-school debate and public speeches, he said that entry forms for the poetry competition would commence in July.He said that an e-mail address had been opened for the participants to sent in their entries, while about 100 schools in the state capital were participating in the debate and public speeches.According to him, the aim is to educate the youth on the socio-economic and political menace in the country so that they will not make the mistake of the present leaders in the country so that when they get to the higher position, they will know how to take decisions. He said that challenges facing the foundation included the inability of the students to make use of the internet to their own advantages, adding that internet had done more harms to the youth than good.
