Man City coaches for Kanu Greensprings Football Camp

COACHES from the English Premier League champion, Manchester City, have confirmed their participation in the first annual Kanu Greensprings Football Camp.The camp is scheduled for July 1 to 7 and is organised by Greensprings School in partnership with Super Eagles' former captain, Nwankwo Kanu, as well as West Africa School Sports Union (WASSU). The coaches, Lewis Grimshaw and Michael Horton, are in charge of development under manager Roberto Mancini.According to the organisers, the coaches will be joined by their compatriots, Manchester United Academy's U-14 former coach, Keith Harrison, and Liverpool Academy' U-16 coach, Gary Lewis. Harrison is the head coach at Keele University and teaches sports management, while Lewis is a UEFA A license coach.Aside the foreign tacticians, Super Eagles' former coach, Joe Erico, will lead some indigenous coaches to the clinic scheduled to hold at the Lekki Campus of Greensprings School. According to Greensprings' Director of Education, Prof. George Hickman, the preparations for camp are in top gear and efforts are being made for a successful clinic.He added that participants should expect the highest level of football training, which he believes would enrich their skills as well as bring out the innate abilities in Nigeria.Meanwhile, as part of the camp and in order to update the knowledge of Physical Education teachers, a train-the-trainer workshop is also part of the camp, where top sports experts like Clement Fasan, Gloria Obajimi and Patrick Omo-Osagie will co-ordinate proceedings.
