COSCHARIS Group, representative of Jaguar Land Rover Group in Nigeria has formerly introduced the new Range Rover Evoque Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) into the nation's motoring space.According to the President of the Group, Dr Cosmos Maduka, the new Range Rover Evoque which is available in three variants, Prestige, Dynamic and Pure has successfully satisfied all SUV requirements, adding that it suits Nigerian environment.TheSpeaking at the unveiling of the new product in Lagos, recently, Maduka said: 'This is not just another moving object, it is Range Rover Evoque and it is about making a difference'.The event was also used to introduce foremost actress, Genevieve Nnaji as Range Rover Ambassador in Nigeria, to buttress her new identity, she was given the keys to the new wonder on wheels.To add glamour to the unveiling, an eight-man team led by the Director, Operations, Jaguar Land Rover Sub Sahara Africa, (JLR SSA), Nigel Clarke came in all the way from South Africa.Also present, were members of the business community, socialites among others.Explaining further, Maduka said: 'This iconic model of Range Rover has been launched in other markets since late September 2011. But our principals did not release the Evoque to our market because the quality of our gasoline is not compatible with the engine of the vehicles that were initially launched in other markets.'They delayed ours to retune the engine and make them compatible with the quality of gasoline that is locally obtainable in our market and today, we have a perfect product before you that is suitable for our market,' Maduka said.According to him, Evoque is a Sports Utility Vehicle that possesses the control ride and refined comfort of the Range Rover Sports in a smaller, lighter and more agile package.Besides, he emphasised that the vehicle was designed and built to deliver the assured responsive on road performance demanded by premium customers who find the current line up too practical and conservative.Making reference to the company's marketing plans, Maduka said Coschari's intention is to attract young buyers to complement 'our already established older customers', adding that 'we expect 90 per cent of our potential customers to be entirely new customers.'The market drive of Evoque is the luxury consumers including hardworking individuals who loves life, young couples, single business executives, young families, sporty and active individuals, directors, executives and entrepreneurs, the young and young at heart'.According to him, the Evoque is a crossbreed vehicle with premium characteristics to meet the expectations of both classy female and male customers, adding that the car outsold all other Ranger Rovers the very first week it arrived Nigeria.'The Evoque outsold all other Range Rover models within the first week of arrival given our customer orientation, we have adequately prepared to meet and surmount demands', he said.He also used the opportunity to explain that adequate arrangement have been made to provide after sales requirement for the product nationwide.Maduka explained that Range Rover Evoque is designed to start appealing to customers who would never have considered the Range Rover brand before. 'Some of that comes from car's size, which is very compact, fuel economy, maneuverability, on-road capability and style.'According to him, the Evoque is at home both on-road and off-road, adding that, 'The Range Rover Evoque is a city vehicle that demonstrates very much urbane orientation in its stylistic design. It is the smallest and highest Range Rover ever built. Although it does have clearly off-road capability, which is a core unique selling point of the Range Rover - Land Rover brand but its on-road capability is as effective and powerful.'Giving a remark on behalf of the JLR team, Clarke said the company was committed to provide cutting edge services to its numerous customers across the region.According to him, JLR is working hand in hand with its dealers to ensure customers' satisfaction remains a cardinal point in its operations, adding that Nigeria is very critical to the success of the brand across the region.
