Thousands of jobs are underway next month for the army of unemployed graduates and other school leavers between the ages of 18- 35 in Oyo State.The state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina, gave this hint recently while speaking in Ibadan on the forthcoming maiden edition of Oyo State job fair. He said the job fair tagged 'First Oyo State Job and Entrepreneurship Youth Fair 2012,' will be an avenue for unemployed youths in the state to be placed on gainful employments in various organisations which have indicated interest to participate.The programme, according to him, is slated to hold between Wednesday 4th ' Friday 6th July this year at the Lekan Are Hall , Kakanfo Inn, Ring Road Ibadan and will give both employers of labour and job seekers on opportunity to interact and give the employers the opportunity to fix the best candidates for various positions in their organisations. According to him, 'Ministry of Youth and Sports and the state government in collaboration with EZ37 Solutions, will bring employers and the job seekers together for job placement, thereby reducing unemployment rates in the state.'Registration, he said, was strictly online at 'www.oyostatejobfair.com' and was still open to both employers of labour and job seekers till end of this month. Employers of labour who have indicated interest according to the former ACN House of Representatives candidate in Ibadan North East/South East constituency includes; multinational companies, financial institutions, insurance companies, telecommunication firms, hotels, publishing firms, food and beverages industries, petrol chemical industries, mining industries, educational institutions, construction firms, agro- allied industries among others.'We felt that the state government alone cannot provide the needed jobs for the teeming youth, that is why we are bringing companies, graduates and unemployed youths together to interact face to face to fill the vacant posts for job placement in various organisations.'The state will serve as the intermediary and those who cannot get the jobs this time will have their data in the data bank of those companies to fill vacant posts in those organisations in the nearest future,' he explained.
