QPR partners Used Kits Foundation for youth development

ENGLISH Premiership side, Queens Park Rangers (QPR), is partnering Used Kits Foundation to provide playing apparels for budding talents in the third world.Speaking on the partnership, Used Kit Foundation's boss, Sola Orelaja, listed QPR as the body's major sponsor, while revealing that discussions were at an advanced stage to bring in Porto.Orelaja said the foundation aims to encourage youths by providing them with used kits from clubs in Europe, thereby giving them hope for a brighter future. He revealed that since the foundation came into existence last September, it has resolved to provide kits for players in Nigeria and other African countries by working with European clubs.The Used Kits boss noted that talents abound in Africa but the youths were unfortunately less privileged compared to their European counterparts, hence the need to give them a helping hand.Orelaja, who is based in the United Kingdom, said as a top player in the football business, he has been in the forefront in efforts at bettering the lots of the upcoming, less-privileged African youths with a view to providing them a lifeline to achieve their dreams.'In the course of trying to give our youths the best, we approached the London-based Premiership side, Queens Park Rangers, and they agreed to be our major sponsor and have even given us kits that would be distributed to selected academies today,' he said.According to him, Senate President David Mark is interested in the project and has given his support, while the official launch of the project will hold at the Agege Stadium today. Also, the foundation is in talks with the representative of the Italian Consul, Carl Michael Borgogna, on the need to back its activities.He added: 'We also wish to acknowledge other sponsors-United Soccer & Management Company Ltd., Lagos State Football Association, Ikeja Divisional Football Association, Freeborn Hotels & Suites, Adefuye Mansions Service Apartments and Obat Oil.'Those that will benefit from the foundation's largesse are the Future Star Academy, Future Pro Academy and FC SAB Football Academy, U-13 Eko Championship winner (all of Lagos), and Eunice International Academy, Delta State.Orelaja also assured that other countries in West Africa would benefit from the foundation's activities.
