Dansol High School celebrates founders day

IT was a colourful and blissful day for students of Dansol High School, Ikeja, and their parents recently as the school marked its 15th Founders Day. The well attended event commenced with praise and worship songs by the Dansol Praise Team, and later climaxed with the award segment. Director of the Dansol Educational Organisation, Mrs. Adunola Akinyemiju, noted that the school, which commenced with four students on October 9, 1995 now has over 850 students, and has recorded tremendous success in terms of acquisition and academic growth over the years. She emphasized that the school was committed to giving adequate attention to moral education, spiritual value, social and a sound academic life. God has been the source of all the strides that we have made as a school. Our students have graduated from universities within Nigeria and abroad and they are standing out in their various fields of endeavor all over the world, simply because we identified and developed them through our talent development programmes and many stars have been groomed through the programmes, she stated. Stressing that the school would not relenting on its effort to ensure that qualitative education is offered to its students, she explained that it was in the same spirit that the school recently launched theDirectors Essay Competition, designed to assess the understanding of what the students were being taught. The event also featured presentation of prizes to winners of the maiden edition, which is a one-term tuition fee for first prize, half term for second and quarter term tuition for third position. In the senior school category, Onyarin Gloria won the first prize; Badejo Adetomiwa, took second position and Emma Nwachukwu Favour, won the third prize. Ogunlolu Olaoluwa won the first prize in the junior school category; Nwonah Dumebi took the second prize, while Abu Nancy came third. Long service and special awards were also given to credible and qualified individuals.
