Dont encroach on Air Force land, community warned

THE  Emir of  Jiwa, Alhaji  Idris Musa,recently, in Abuja warned  indigenes of  Nuwalege village on Airport road against  encroaching  on Nigerian Air Force (NAF) land.Musa gave the  warning at the inauguration of a  borehole donated by the Air Force to the community as part of the activities marking the NAF Day 2011 celebrations.Please,  I want to tell our community that when you have a good neighbour, you relate with him very well.  Dont do anything that will tarnish the image of the village.I want to advise the community that they should avoid selling the land that belongs to the Air Force as any problem between it and the community should be avoided, he said.He commended the Nigeria Air Force for drilling a borehole in the community, saying, What you have done for us is highly appreciated.Health is wealth, water is a basic necessity and you have given this to us and you have also provided toilets for our children to safeguard their health.In his remarks, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Mohammed Umar, said the Air Force was in the community to show gratitude, good neighbourliness and promote civil/military relations.We have lived  very peacefully and we are very happy to assist, however, we can and we pray the water project we have established here will go a long way in eliminating the water problem faced by the community.I want to urge them to continue to live peacefully with our personnel who are ready to live with them in peace, he said.He said  the  inauguration of other projects  was  ongoing across communities in NAF units across the country.The News Agency of  Nigeria (NAN) reported  that Umar also inaugurated a toilet facility for a school in the community and gave free medical treatment to the indigenes.The  theme of  the NAF Day celebration was: Enhancing NAF Advocacy through Effective Community Relations Efforts.
