Royal Shekinah Suites to channel River Atikeke

IN an effort to compliment the effort of  Kwara State government in the area  of community development, the Board of Directors and Management of Royal Shekinah Suites, Ilorin, has embarked on th channelisation of  River Atikeke.The project, which cost the Management of Royal Shekinah Suites about N45 million,  was part of its corporate  socio-responsibility to the community and also to enhance the development of the state.The General Manager of Royal Shekinah Suites, Mr Ayitayo Ayola, who spoke with Community News,  noted that the project was embarked upon to salvage  damage and loss of property worth millions of naira during the rainy season having critically studied the height of erosion along the channel in the past.He stressed that River Atikeke could overflow its bank during the rainy season and as such, it could affect lives and property of people living within the vicinity.He added that with the channelisation of the river the people living within the area would have the cause to smile, as the project would, on completion, protects lives and property of the people. once is completed.According to him, the project will compliment the state government efforts in the area of infrastructural and economic development as he appeal to wealthy individuals, private companies and organisations in the state to always  assist the state government in the area of community development, saying that they should emulate Royal Shekinah Suites which had become one of the fast growing hotels in the state.
