120 feature in Emel junior tennis clinic, tourney

OVER 120 kids aged between five and 18 years took part in this years Emel Group of Companies Easter Junior tennis clinic held last week at Ikoyi Club 1938.The clinic, which served off on April 18, with the aim of unearthing talents and promoting tennis development in the country, ended in a grand style on the 29th.According to the Managing Director, Emel Advanced Power Solutions Limited, Roy Chatterjee, the company is pleased to be involved in the sponsorship of the junior clinic to assist the organisers of the event pool young players from across the country, help them develop their tennis skills and provide entertainment for them and members of the club during the holiday season.The company, he said, was passionate about uplifting the development of sports from the grassroots in the country. In this direction, the company has adopted tennis at the juvenile level for development and to help discover fresh talents.For the Chairman of Tennis Section, Ikoyi Club, Wale Opejin, the tourney has helped players to improve on their skills. He said: We are so pleased that Emel Advanced Power Solutions has generously sponsored this clinic to benefit members children.They have helped to provide our children with the opportunity to learn and play the game, as well as to develop good sportsmanship skills.The clinic was a huge success as the children flocked the courts to put their skills to test.
