Lokoja: Group charged on community development

IYALE Area Development Association, Lokoja branch, has been urged to focus on the development of Iyale community and its environs.The advice was given by the life patron of the branch, Mr James Yusuf, while inaugurating the new executive members of the association.In his own speech, the Grand Patron, Prince Noahs Akpa, admonished them to improve on the exemplary leadership of the out gone executive which he said was unprecedented in the life of the association.Sunday Ocholi, a patron who conducted the election, thanked members for their co-operation which made the election easy and smooth.The out gone Chairman, Mr Andrew Obetule, in his farewell message after spending two terms, said that he met just N632.81 in the coffers of the association at inception, but was glad that his administration left over N500,000 in the purse.Part of his achievements was the setting up of three standing committees, Onu Iyale Chieftaincy, Town hall building, and reconciliation committees which worked very seriously to the satisfaction of all the members of the association.He thanked the patrons for their pieces of advice, just as he commended the exco and members for their co-operation which enabled him to lead them successfully.
