Ejigbo council boss tours CDAs, promises residents of good roads

The chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Kehinde Bamigbetan, has assured residents of the council that his administration would use all machineries at its disposal to ensure that the problem of bad roads, associated with the council becomes a thing of the past. This was his message of hope to the people during his two-month tour of 71 community development associations under the control of the LCDA.The tour, which started on the 7 May, at Abuna-Sanusi CDA and was rounded up on the 30 June, at Ailegun East, Ailegun West, Ailegun Omoboja and Adebanjo Oyelana CDAs, had the council chairman leading all members of his executive council to each of the CDAs, during the period, to present his administration's scorecard in the last six months to the people, as promised by him during his electioneering campaign period.Part of the monumental achievements recorded by Bamigbetan, since he assumed office for a second term, which he announced at the tour include, effort made by his administration to secure a N220 million loan from a first generation bank to rehabilitate five major roads. The roads are, Jubril Olabisi in Aigbaka ward, Nurudeen Obe in Fadu ward, Kayode-Osho, Double Powerline in Ifoshi ward, Rainbow Avenue in Ailegun ward and Double star road in Oke-Afa ward.Bamigbetan informed members of the CDAs that the intention of his government initially was to secure a N520 million to rehabilitate 10 roads, but explained that the Lagos state government cut the amount to N220 million. He added that the process of securing the loan was almost complete and work will commence on the roads immediately the loan was secured.The council chief also disclosed that as part of efforts to make most of Ejigbo roads motorable, his administration has purchased a new grader and an excavator. He said 'the acquisition of these equipments is in fulfillment of our promise to establish a works yard in the council, which will enable us cover a large number of our roads,as we have discovered that the cost of hiring these equipments is high in no distant future, a roller machine will be purchased, to make our roads last longer after grading'.He added that the equipments would be made available for CDA'S that are ready to grade their roads at no cost but they will need to liaise with the works department of the council.
