Peak Milk kicks off 'drink milk everyday' campaign

AS part of its vision of creating a healthy Nigeria, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc under its flagship, Peak Milk, flagged-off the campaign tagged: 'Drink milk everyday' in Martinos Hall, No. 1, Jobi Fele Way, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.The campaign, which is an initiative to encourage Nigerians to appreciate the importance of milk to both the young and old, witnessed personalities from all works of life such as the wife of Lagos State governor, Dame Abimbola Fashola, Miss Nigeria 2011, Miss Feyijimi Sodipo; Music artiste, M.I, Okey Bakassi and pupils from Chrisland Primary School, Lagos.WAMCO said that the campaign came as a result of extensive research carried out by the company which showed that Nigerians were not drinking milk often enough; considering it's enormous nutritional benefits and it's ability to help the country build a healthy manpower.While appraising the relevance of milk, Corporate Affairs Manager of the firm, Ore Famurewa, said: 'Nutrition is the key enabler to meet almost every developmental goal, and we cannot overemphasise the important role milk can play in achieving this.'Speaking at the event, Mrs. Fashola emphasised the need to drink milk, which is an essential necessity for daily growth. She also gave herself as testament to the fact that it gave strength, more beauty and manpower and so much more.Guests were given an exorbitant treat as nutritionists took them through a slide talk on how milk helps to develop every part of the body and also the deficiency faced when lacked in the body. They were also entertained by M.I. who sang and danced with the kids and also advised them to drink milk everyday.In other to support the campaign, an integrated marketing and communication campaign has been developed based on consumer insight and will be activated pan Nigeria.
