Ethics and Values Cooperative Federation launched in Oyo LGs

THE Ethics and Values Cooperative Federation, Oyo state chapter, recently, held its maiden meeting with the local government committees of the group in the state.The Oyo State Coordinator of the Federation, Alhaji Kamorudeen Abiodun Aderibigbe, at the meeting charged the committees in all the 33 local government areas of the state to remain committed to the ideals of the group, saying it was a project under the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, meant to ameliorate the suffering of poor Nigerians.He noted that the project, under the office of the Presidential Adviser on Ethics and Values, Mrs Sarah Jubril, is meant to contribute to the process of rebuilding Nigeria, Adding '' for now the Presidency regards our activities as those of volunteers, .. a demonstration that given a conducive environment, some Nigerians are ready to sacrifice their limited resources to better the lots of others.''Aderibigbe also lauded the efforts of the zonal and local government committee members who sacrificed their time to attend the selection interview conducted recently which resulted in their appointment.He explained that the presidency had forwarded a covering note to the state governors to assist in the smooth operation of the group, saying in Oyo state, once the appropriate ministry completed work on the presidency's letter, the group would begin full operation.He also appreciated the support of the Oyo state commissioner for Trade and Cooperative who he said had promptly worked on the registration of the Ethics and Value Cooperative Society which will allow the society to access fund from the Federal government for the operation of the group.
