Community goes spiritual over robbery, underdevelopment

The residents of Jagan community in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State have declared a one day prayer and fasting as a means of solving some of the problems confronting the area.The Chief Imam of Jagan Central Community, Imam Abdullah Muhammed, while addressing muslims, said that people had agreed to the request.He said in a meeting held in the area,  that the christians should have their prayer inside a particular Church in the area, while the Muslims should also do same in their mosques on the same day.He explained that the decision by the people to go spiritual was borne out of the calamities that befell the community in recent times and lack of development.According to him, in the past few years, men of the underworld had invaded the community during which life was lost while others sustained injuries.He disclosed that while neighbouring communities were receiving government attention, the community had been neglected and abandonedThe religious leader pointed out that there was no single government presence in the community, adding that most of the projects in the area were initiated by the people.For instance, he said the community lacked motorable roads, health facilities, public schools and water.He said that the prayer and fast became imperative to seek Gods favour  so that the calamities could stop.
