Taraba lawmakers to work together

THE Taraba State House of Assembly has resolved to work as a family in order to develop the state.Majority Leader of the House, Charles Maijankai, who disclosed this in an interview with The Guardian, said no amount of pressure or influence from an individual or group would compel the House to impeach any of its leaders.The leadership of the House, according to him, has been upright and has been enjoying the cooperation of the entire members of the House, irrespective of political party, religion and ethnic affiliations.'Our Speaker is a leader that goes along with all the members. He has listening ears. He is always ready to say sorry whenever he erred. With such caliber of leader, tell me why we won't progress,' he said.The former security adviser to Governor Danbaba Suntai said the result of the on-going unity among the members led to the passage of eight bills, 58 resolutions and several motions in the just-concluded sixth AssemblyHe added: 'Those who think we are not doing our oversight functions are not being fair to us because we have been doing that and we shall continue to do that in as far as we have vowed to put smiles on the faces of our people.
