AS the Heineken Champions Planet gradually inches towards home stretch, all the five lucky winners that won tickets to watch the final match in Wembley will be on parade during the Manchester United and Schalke 04 second semi-final duel at the Old Trafford today. According to the Senior Brand Manager, Heineken, Jacqueline van Faassen, all the five lucky consumers - Akpan Odiong David, Agiobasimi Vincent Osivue Ben, Bassey Evaristus Emmanuel, Adewale James Adeyinka and Lawal Tunde Saheed - have been duly informed of the media presentation coming up during the interval at the duel. The winners had early last month won in the lucky draw ceremony conducted by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Breweries Plc, Nicolaas Vervelde, alongside former top footballers, Victor Ikpeba and Ann Agumanu Echijile. Winners are expected to travel to London in the last week of this month for the epic final match, for which millions of football faithful are still aiming to buy the ticket considering the high price. The tickets for the final match over the years have been scarce commodity considering the growing population of followers of the competition. This years final match is expected to attract a minimum of £150 plus a £26 administration fee for general sale while the cheapest category four tickets available through the clubs goes for £80, but the final cost may be more considering the fact that the bulk will come through black market purchase. Aside the final match, the lucky winners will be part of numerous activities lined up by UEFA because Heineken is one of the major sponsors of the competition and the consumers from Nigeria will have a rare opportunity to network other brand consumers from all the affiliate nations of Heineken brand. The consumers, assembled from different locations nationwide alongside celebrities such as Super Eagles former players and captains of industries have been guests at the Champions Planet located in upscale Victoria Island, Lagos, for all the matches from the knockout stages of the competition. Last season, Heineken sponsored five consumers, including two females - Funmi Taiwo and Chinwendu Chukwu, while Animashahun, Kabir, Akeme Solomon and Taiwo Ajayi watched the final match between winner, Inter Milan of Italy, and Bayern Munich of Germany.The bar-storming promotion nationwide organised by EXP Marketing began in January.
