Okagbare upbeat after flooring World, Olympic champions

NIGERIAN athletics golden girl, Blessing Okagbare, who claimed two of the biggest scalps in athletics at the London Diamond League over the weekend, says her victory is a good way to prepare for the 2012 Olympic Games.At that event, Okagbare stunned a world-class field that including the world's fastest woman, America's Carmelita Jeter, and the reigning Olympic champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-ryce of Jamaica, to win the 100 metres in South London.Running in lane threeand with both Jeter and Olympics defending champion, Fraser-Pryce, as pundits' stars of the show inlanes four and five respectively, Okagbare looked like one of the six who had come to make up the numbers.However, the Crystal Palace crowd and the athletics world got a real shock as Okagbare blasted out of the blocks and never looked back till the finishing line, where she dipped 11.01 seconds,thereby leavingJeter in an unusual and uncomfortable position of second best.After the most famous victory of her life, a delighted Okagbare said: 'I wasn't expecting it,' but she admittedthat she was ready for London 2012 and 'happy to be in the mix,' for the highest place on the podium.
