TREM prays for Team Nigeria

UNIT of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Breeding Leaders for Empowerment and National Transformation (BLENT), will hold a special service on Sunday morning for Team Nigeria and stakeholders in the sports industry at TREM Headquarters, GbagadaExpressway, Lagos, ahead of the London Olympics.The expected guests for the special service with the theme: 'Repositioning Nigerian Sports,' include former internationals and other stakeholders in the sports sector. Speakers expected at the service include the Chairman of FC Ebedei, Shagamu, Ogun State, Churchill Oliseh, Olympic medallist, CSP Chioma Ajunwa, and a basketball investor, Col. Sam Ahmedu.According to the organisers of the event, activities lined up for the day include donation of gifts to the National Institute for Sports (NIS) and Paralympics Committee Nigeria, song ministration, prayer for the sports sector and word ministration by the Presiding Bishop of TREM and chief host, Dr. Mike Okonkwo.BLENT is a leadership empowerment programme targeted at the young people and also serves as a way of impacting the leaders in various sectors of the economy for effective governance and good leadership.It is a brand in TREM that serves to reach out to professionals from different sectors of the economy in order to identify with some of the good policies they have put in place to move the nation forward and at the same time give succour to individuals and organisations that need assistance.The church has hosted nine editions of the programme in the last four years. The first edition was targeted at the educational sector, where the church gave out computers and printers to 10 schools within its neighborhood.The second edition focused on the health sector, in which four primary health centres and two general hospitals in Lagos got stretchers and bed sheets.The third edition, which addressed the finance sector, saw the ministry give out 15 motorcycles (Okada) to the commercial cyclists association in Lagos, in addition to cash to some individuals, who were able to put together laudable project profiles but lacked the finances to start up business.
