Plateau govt to give Dantong, Fulani befitting burial

ARRANGEMENTS have been concluded by the Plateau State government to give the two lawmakers who were killed recently, Senator Gyang Dantong and Honour-able Gyang Fulani, a befitting burial.The two lawmakers died while trying to escape when some gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked them at the mass burial of people killed in Barkin-Ladi and Riyom local government areas of the state.Addressing newsmen on the burial arrangements for the lawmakers, the state Commissioner for Information, Yiljap Abraham, described them as gallant men who died in search for peace for the state, adding that adequate security arrangements had been made for those who would attend the burial.The commissioner said the burial was in appreciation of their contributions to the democratic governance in Nigeria and that of Plateau State in particular.'In the blood of these two martyrs shall we win our total freedom to live in and occupy a state that is totally free of the fear of attacks by those who hate us intensely,' Yiljap said.The late Senator Dan-tong, according to the commissioner, would be buried at his home town in Bachit District, Riyom Local Government Area of the state, after a funeral service at Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN).
