Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz Speak About Partying with JaMarcus Russell and J.R. Smith

Published by Bleacher Report on Sat, 12 Mar 2016

It's not every day when a story about JaMarcus Russell and J.R. Smith partying with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz comes out, but the two hip-hop stars opened up about previous exploits with the former NFL quarterback and Cleveland Cavaliers sharpshooter Friday.During an appearance on ESPN'sHighly Questionable, 2 Chainz said Russell used to carry around "abook bag full of lean, acodeine-spiked mixed drink," according to Sporting News' Nick Birdsong. In addition to Russell's exploits with syrup, Wayne discussed a story involving himself, Smith and two women at a hotel that is best left to his storytelling prowess:The Russell story was not the first time he's been mentioned with the mixed drink. The former LSU standout was charged with possession of a controlled substance, found to be codeine syrup, following an arrestin July 2010."Codeine and alcohol actas depressants on the central nervous system," according toJonSaracenoofUSA Today. "Combining them can cause harmful side effects that include impaired thinking and reactions. Withdrawal symptoms are common among those who try to shake the habit."The story involving Smith isn't nearly as damning, though it doesn't sound as though the two females held him in as high regard as they did Lil Wayne on that particular evening.Smith does have an advantage over Russell, in that he still has an active professional career and is playing for the best team in the Eastern Conference. Russell is one of the most infamous draft busts in NFL history, starting just 25 games over three seasons before his career ended.
