NANTA, Western zone inaugurates secretariat

Published by Tribune on Wed, 25 Jul 2012

THE essence ofhaving a crop ofprogressive and selfless individuals at the helm of affairs of an organisation was practically displayed for the members of the western zone of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), as the association commissioned its ultra modern secretariat. The western zone of the association, in spite of its frenetic efforts, could not break the barrier of having a befitting secretariat, until the Muyiwa Salami-led executives came on board.National President of the NANTA, Alhaji Aminu Agoha, showered encomiums on the executive and other members of the western zone for their frenetic efforts at propelling the movement of the association to its promised land.Alhaji Agoha said: 'NANTA Western Zone has indeed dazed and dazzled us at the national level with their laudable strides within this short period. The achievement recorded so far clearly showed that the members of the executive mean business, while other members of the zone are cooperative. This is worthy, of emulation by other zones.'He charged members of the zone on cooperation and unity, which, according to him, would afford them complete actualisation of their lofty dreams for the zone and also enhance growth and progress in their various agencies. The NANTA western zone president and Chief Executive Officer of Dvine Travels and Tours, Mr Muyiwa Salami, earlier in his keynote address, intimated members of the association in the zone and representatives of the national council and other zones with the zone's journey so far at a brief session preceding the commissioning of the secretariat, at Premier Hotel, Mokola, Ibadan. He disclosed that his administration had been able to fulfil some of its promisesto overhaul the association, thereby accoding it national and international recognition. This, according to him, will immensely benefit members of the association and their agencies.Salami, who lauded the past administration in the zone on its efforts to drive the association to its promised land said: 'Having noticed with a keen interest the frenetic efforts of the past administration to provide this zone with a befitting secretariat, which proved abortive, this administration prioritised setting up a befitting and well-furnished secretariat for the zone and to the glory of God we could achieved it.'He said further that the administration has been able to make most of the members of the zone financially responsible at the national level, 'and we are still counting, while our members increase continually. We have also embarked on interstate sensitisation and visitation to him, was to discover and encourage practitioners to become members of the association. So far, we have visited Ile Ife, Osogbo, Akure, Ado Ekiti, Abeokuta and Ilesha, while we shall soon do same to Kwara and Edo State.'Alhaji Agoha while cutting the tape to the NANTA western zone secretariat again lauded the zone for what he called its unprecedented stride in the history of the zone. The atmosphere got ignited with palpable joy when both the members the zone and those from other zones stormed the secretariat entered to appreciate the beauty of the secretariat, while they generously showered encomiums on the members of the zone and the Muyiwa Salami-led administration.
