Zenith Bank earmarks N15mfor womens b/ball league

SPONSORS and the organisers of the Women Basketball National Championship, Zenith Bank Plc and the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), have announced a N15m sponsorship package for this years tournament.The first phase would dunk off in Abuja between May 12 and 22.Muktar Kaleh, Vice President of NBBF and technical committee chairman, who disclosed this at a media parley in Lagos, said the winner will take home N1million, as runner up goes home with N500,000 while N300,000 awaits the third place winner along with trophy each.He also informed that, there will be trophies for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and highestthree pointers.The second phase of the competition is fixed for July 9 to 20 in Akure, while the final phase is slated for Lagos between August 3 and 14.Earlier, NBBF President, Tijani Umar had in his speech lauded the sponsor and assured of a hitch-free competition.Victor Udoji, Head, Corporate Communications of Zenith Bank Plc pledged the banks continued support for the NBBFs programme to develop the womens basketball league.
