Kwararafa varsity names Ochefu VC

A PROFESSOR of Economic History and former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Benue State University, Makurdi, Yakubu Ochefu, has been appointed the Vice Chancellor of Kwararafa University, Wukari, Taraba State.Ochefu, the son of the late Col. Anthony Ochefu (governor of the defunct East Central State) before his new appointment, has lectured in several universities and headed several organisations besides being consultant to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the National War College.In a statement, Dr. S. D. Gani, chairman, Board of Trustees of the university, said the appointment takes effect from August 1, 2012.He added that Ochefu's appointment was made on the recommendation of the selection committee composed of Professors Ochapa Onazi, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Charles Vajime, former Vice Chancellor of Benue State University, Makurdi and Peter Lassa, former Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNIJOS.
