Ishawo residents allege vandalism of fuel pipeline

Residents ofIshawo in IkoroduLocal Government Area of Lagos state, have called the attention National Security and Civil Defence Corps to the vandalism of petroleum pipeline in the area, which they said had become a regular occurrence.They said the petrol pipeline, which passed through Isawo town, was vandalised by unscrupulous people who scooped petrol from the pipe line and that the civil defence corps should do something to avert the impending danger people residing in the area were exposed to.According to them , the vandalism had  been on for quite sometime without the relevant authority doing anything to stop  it. They explained that at times, policemen were seen around the area and rather than make arrest they allegedly extort money from those caught and released them.They insisted  that the authority concerned should act fast before the matter went out of hand, because the danger of vandalism was grave, and there could be explosion which might consume the entire community and in the interest of the innocent members of the community , urgent step should be taken.
