ACN alleges plot to burn Benue INEC office

THE Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Benue State has alleged plans by agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to burn the electoral materials used during the polls in the state as part of the plot to destroy evidence of rigging.We have uncovered plans to burn down the INEC office in Benue State. There is need to secure the material used for the elections, it said.It also alleged that the PDP-led administration in the state has started a systematic harassment, victimisation and termination of appointment of persons in the state civil service suspected to have expressed sympathy for the ACN during the elections.Consequently, the partys governorship candidate, Prof. Steve Ugba, has urged the Prof. Attahiru Jega-led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to quickly mobilise security agents for the protection of the electoral materials in the state, even as he vowed to use every legal means to reclaim his mandate allegedly hijacked by the PDP.
