Jigawa raises transition committees

THE Jigawa State government has set up transition and inauguration committees for the new government that will be sworn in on May 29, 2011.This is coming on the heels of the victory of Governor Sule Lamido and his deputy in the recently-concluded gubernatorial election.Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr. Aminu Abdullahi Taura, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the Government House at the end of the State Executive Council meeting yesterday in Dutse.We also deliberated on the impending transition. Of course, the governor and his deputy have been elected and it is going to be a new government from May 29. So, the council has approved and inaugurated a transition committee with the SSG as the chairman, Head of Service, Chief of Staff, Commissioner of Justice, Commissioner of Finance, permanent secretary in the Government House, as members.Taura said the council has also constituted the I2-man inauguration committee to include all members of the executive council with the director general (protocol) as chairman and the chairman, Dutse Capital Development Authority, as members to commence the process of inauguration of the new government.
