At Women's Meet, Ademowo Tasks Govt On Corruption

THE Bishop of Lagos and Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos and Dean, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev. Adebola Ademowo has described the level of corruption in the land as alarming, noting that the cankerworm has reduced the standard of the country from what it was from the beginning.He made the observation in Lagos, while speaking at the 2012 Women's Conference, organised by the Diocese of Lagos Women and Girls' Organisations led by Mama Lagos, Mrs. Oluranti Ademowo and hosted by the Victoria Island Archdeaconry.Speaking on the theme: 'Lost in God: The Whole Duty of Man', the Dean urged participants to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria and those in authority, saying 'we must not confess negative about our country because we believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel.'Ademowo who commended women in the Diocese, especially for their role in the area of fellowship, evangelism and service, called on government to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.
