Isoko youths urged to shun violence

BAYELSA State Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Olakpe has reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the eradication of crime in the country.Mr. Olakpe, spoke with newsmen shortly after a grand reception was held in his honour by his kinsmen at Idheze in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State as well as the Idheze community elite group in collaboration with the Idheze community.He charged the youths across the country to shun violence and direct their energies to ventures that would adequately equip them to face future economic challenges.Mr. Olakpe enjoined the public to join hands with the police in crime fighting by providing timely information that could lead to the tracking down of hoodlums.He noted that the cooperation of all Nigerians was needed to put the present security challenge in control.While maintaining that peace was the only panacea to sustainable development in the country, Mr. Olakpe advised youths to cultivate the spirit of hard work and dedication to duties in the service of their mother land.Chairman of the Idheze Elite group, Mr.Richard Okogba noted that Mr. Olakpe had contributed immensely to the development of the community by enlisting over 50 youths from the community into the Nigeria Police.He said the reception ceremony was aimed at appreciating Mr. Olakpe for his assistance in various ways to the community and described the Police Commissioner as a worthy son of the community.
