London 2012: Team Nigeria's t/tennis, boxing teams home today

DEFEATED Nigeria's table tennis teams in both female and the male category are scheduled to arrive in Lagos today after being humiliated in the preliminaries of the on-going London 2012 Olympics.The table tennis team which earlier got a flicker of hope on Saturday when Aruna Quadri won in his opening match, however got the red card when Aruna Quadri finally succumbed to defeat in the hands of Turkish Vang Bora, thus eclipsing Nigeria's dream of any fruitful outing.Also, boxing potential Muideen Akanji who lost his bout on Saturday is expected to be on the team that has been given 48 hours to leave the Olympics village.The table tennis quartet of Segun Toriola, Aruna Quadri, Funke Oshonaike and Edem Offiong with the boxing duo of Muideen Akanji and Lawan Lukman would fly Lufthansa airline at 8 am. (London time) for the six hour flight to Lagos.The athletes have been given 48 hours in compliance with the olympic games rules to leave the Games Village.
