Pepsi youth tourney thrills St. Bedes' coach

FOR coach David Legget of St. Bedes Academy, United Kingdom, the recently concluded Pepsi U-17 International Football Tournament in Abeokuta, Ogun State, was all fun and adventure for his team.The soft drink giant organised the tournament as part of activities lined up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pepsi Football Academy (PFA). St. Bedes Academy was one of the four teams that featured in the two-day tourney.Its coach said that his boys did not only come to sharpen their football skills but also took full advantage of the social side of football that the tourney afforded.'We did not only come to compete in the highly standardized tournament but more than anything else, the tournament gave my boys the opportunity to mix up, make friends and above all have fun playing with people of like minds under a very conducive atmosphere,' he said.According to him, his lads enjoyed every single match they played during the tourney at the MKO International Stadium, Abeokuta, and he gave kudos to Pepsi for the wonderful initiative.'All the football teams here displayed high standards during the tournament and I must confess that this is one of the well-organised youth football tournaments that we have participated in,' he added.'The organisers have done really well, the Nigerian people are wonderful and the environment very conducive as against what the international press has been reporting. We shall be glad to come again.'St Bedes Academy came forth in the event.
