White Doves, Inneh Queens In Edo final

Published by Tribune on Thu, 02 Aug 2012

INNEH Queens FC will face a difficult task against White Doves FC in the final of the Edo State Women Football Association Cup final slated for today at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin-City.The Benin based White Doves FC which has undergone rigorous training and preparation ahead of today's encounter is poised to dethrone the defending champion from representing the State at the national final billed for the later part of the year.Speaking with Tribunesports on phone, the chairman of the club, Reverend Martins Evbuomwan expressed confidence that his youthful team would turn the table against the established league team, adding that the team has what it takes to beat Inneh Queens at the end of the match.Meanwhile, Inneh Queens' coach, Kenneth Aigbe remarked that playing against White Doves would not pose any threat to his team as they are ready to play the game as never before in order to win and eventually represent the State at the national final.Coach Aigbe added that despite playing a non league team, they would not underrate them knowing fully well that they will be playing like wounded lioness to achieve a feat by beating his team since that they have nothing to lose even in defeat. It could be recalled that the state owned Inneh Queens FC had dominated the FA Cup over the years as a result of the inability of other women teams to challenge the team in her quests to represent the state at the national finals.
