Oyo govt donates N1m for Ojebode's burial

THE Oyo State government has donated the sum of one million naira to support the burial arrangements of former IICC Shooting Stars captain, Samuel Ojebode who died last month after a prolonged illness. Making the donation on behalf of the state government, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dapo Lam-Adesina, described late Ojebode as a great ambassador of the state and a role model for upcoming footballers. He made the remark at Ojebode's family residence at Monatan, Ibadan, while delievering a condolence letter signed by the governor of Oyo state governor, Senator Isaiq Abiola Ajimobi to commiserate with the family over the death of the late soccer icon.While reacting, wife of the deceased, Mrs Titilayo Ojebode thanked the state government for the financial and moral support given to the family while her late husband was on the hospital bed and after he had passed on. Tribunesports recalled that Oyo state government spent N3m on Ojebode's treatment while on admission at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.Meanwhile, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dapo Lam-Adesina, visited ex-Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan and Barcelona FC of Spain, Gbenga Okunowo to sympathise with him over the fire outbreak that razed down his house where he lost properties worth millions of naira. Adesina however pledged government's support for him as he gets over the devastating incident.
