Olofa seeks support of Ojubense ruling house 'Tasks subjects on 2012 Ijakadi festival

The Olofa of Offa,Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, has stretched his hands of fellowship to the Olugbense Ruling House, Offa, urging the royal family to support him in the effort to develop the town.Oba Gbadamosi made this plea while addressing the Offa Council of Elders and the national leadership of Offa Descendants' (ODU), who paid him a solidarity visit in his palace, adding that in the last High Court judgment, there was no victor nor vanquished.The traditional ruler, therefore urged the leadership of the two bodies to appeal to the Olugbense Ruling House to forget the past and cooperate with him in his efforts to build a virile, strong, united community, adding that it is only through unity, love, peace and cooperation that the people could take the town to greater heights.The royal father also warned individuals and groups against any utterances, abusive or insultive languages against the Olugbense Ruling House, saying this would not angur well for the peace, unity and development of the ancient town.He added that Olugbense and Anilelerin Ruling Houses are members of the same family and efforts should therefore be geared up to reconcile the two Houses for the overall development of Offa town.On the annual cultural festival of the town, popularly callled, 2012 Ijakadi fiesta, coming up between 26'29 December, 2012, the Olofa tasked the leadership of Offa Descendants (ODU) to be coordinated by reaching out to all its branches in Nigeria and in the diaspora as well as other stakeholders for the successful hosting of the festival.'We are committed to organising a very colourful festival this year with a view to putting Offa in the world tourism map, adding that the success recorded in the maiden edition of the fiesta held last year was a test case, pointing out that this year edition of Ijakadi festival would be a veritable tool for the development of Offa and called on all sons and daughters of Offa to cooperate with him and the Offa Descendants (ODU) in order to achieve the desire goal.The Olofa then disclosed that work had reached an advanced stage on the construction of the ultra modern town hall in Offa, promising that God's willing; the mansion would be dedicated for use this year.Responding, the National President of Offa Descendants' , (ODU) Chief Alhaji Hamzat Adetunji Adedeji, who thanked the Olofa for his untiring efforts towards the development of Offa town, promised that positive and meaningful actions would be taken on the reconciliation of Olugbense and Anilekrin Ruling Houses in Offa as well as the forthcoming Ijakadi fiesta.
