Amosun hosts special Iftar for Muslims

OGUN State Governor Ibikunle Amosun will on Saturday host Muslims from across the state at a special Iftar (breaking of fast) session.A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu in Abeokuta yesterday indicated that the event, which is scheduled to commence by 4.00 p.m., would hold at the Arcade Ground in the Governor's Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.According to the statement, the Chief Missioner of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Iman Abdurahman Ahmad, at the ceremony would deliver a lecture with the theme 'In Search of National Peace and Security-Religion to the Rescue'''The Iftar session will also witness recitation of the Holy Quran, Modiu (Praises in Honour of Prophet Mohammed, PBUH), supplication to Almighty Allah, congregational Maghrib (evening) prayer and dinner,' the commissioner stated.According to him, the event, which is open to all Muslims, is aimed at enabling them (Muslims) to share the joy of Ramadan with the governor, senior government officials, top dignitaries and leading Islamic scholars and also to pray for more development, peace and security in the state.
