Stylish, Classy Tintin

Published by Guardian on Tue, 07 Aug 2012

AFTER a 25-year career in radio broadcasting and promoting creative talents, the stylish, tall and dark dude, Augustine Imevbore, popularly known as, Tintin The Koolness, and the founder of Medsoul and EmaaJ PR is expanding the frontiers of radio appreciation in the country with the unveiling of his radio station, iGroove,Nigeria's first full online radio station. With this, Tintin aims at projecting quality terrestrial content with distinct naija flavour across the globe.BORN in Nigeria, raised in Italy and educated in the UK (University of Warwick), Tintin has carved a niche for himself as an ambassador of hip hop and R&B music in Italy and Europe.Returning to Nigeria in November 2005, the on-the-air-personality anchored the popular Nigerian Breweries television reality show, Gulder Ultimate Search III, in August 2006.One thing that is so special about this dude is his dress sense. Tintin loves V-neck t-shirt and knows how to rock it well. Tintinising your styleBeing stylish is not easy, especially for the average guy. Upping your style quotient is not about following a set of rules or blindly copying someone else's fashion, it's about finding your own look, knowing what suits you, your lifestyle and budget, and going for them. Wear clothes that spell comfortComfort should always be given utmost priority while thinking of what to wear. Never wear clothes you don't feel at ease with. Clothes reflect your personality, as such; you need to be comfortable in them. It's all about youThe ability to mix and match makes a man even more appealing. Play around with prints to dress up your looks. Be bold, go ahead and experiment as much as you like.Tintin says, 'I think fashion is a personal thing. Everybody does their own thing and try to look good in what they wear. I love fashion and I love to look at beautiful things. I also love to mix styles. Fashion to me, is very subjective. It's just about you.'Be casual'I love jeans and I wear it almost everyday. I also love T-shirts, most especially the short sleeve. I'm very sporty in my dressings and jeans make me very comfortable because of the kind of job I do. All I need to do is just put on a T-shirt and a blazer with a nice pair of shoes, and then I'm good to go,' he enthuses.Rock it well'I do not have a favourite piece of clothing; all I know is that I'm a freak for jeans and t-shirt. My T-shirts are labeled 14 63, made by Olumide, a friend of mine. I wear a shirt a day and I'm very comfortable in it.' Tintin discloses.Pahl Koya grooveOne of Tintin's most expensive fashion items is a Pahl Koya wristwatch. He loves it because it looks very casual and very comfortable for him.Smell goodGood smell is a bonus to being well dressed. You should realise that fragrances are not just for occasions, but also for the everyday outings. However, it should not be overdone, because you would not want to end up smelling like a rose garden. He adds, 'I have three different types, but I can remember only Tuscany leather by Tom Ford and Vetiver by Creed.'UntintinizingTintin refers to a tasteless dressing as colour riot. He says, 'I don't do it; I love to match pair of shoes with my belt. And again, you won't find me wearing a sweater in Nigeria, because the weather is too hot.'Go for the top'I don't have a particular one, I tend to like these unknown Japanese designers a whole lot because they do their things under-covered. I also love Gucci, Giorgio Armani, and Versace because they are fashionable. All my designers are relatively elegant and sporty. They have lovely accessories too,' he states. Go earthy Do not shy away from colours. Play with your look and bring in a zest of life by choosing an eclectic mix of colours into your wardrobe. He loves earth colours. He likes chocolate and all shades of brown, however, he wears other colours and knows how to mix and match them properly.
