Gabros, Izuchukwu Battle For Anambra FA Cup Trophy

GABROS Football Club will today lock horns with Izuchukwu Joshua Academy in the final of the 2011 Neros Pharmaceuticals Anambra State FA Cup at the Gabros International Stadium, Nnewi.Gabros qualified for todays final by beating Morning Star of Onitsha by 42, while Izuchukwu Joshua defeated Philimax Football Club by a lone goal.Gabros has won the FA Cup twice in 2007 and 2007, but Izuchukwu Joshua believes this is the year for it to cart home the N2 million winning prize.The Neros Pharmaceuticals Anambra State FA is at the fifth edition since the company took over the sponsorship in 2007, and aside the N2 million first prize, the second placed team will get N1 million, with the third and fourth-placed teams getting N500, 000 and N100, 000 respectively.Expected at the stadium for the occasion are Anambra State Deputy Governor, Emeka Sibeudu, the Commissioner for Sports, Lady Chinwe Anowai, the State FA chairman, Mike Umeh, who is also the first Vice Chairman of Nigeria Football Association (NFA), as well as other State FA officials will be in attendance.Speaking on the FA Cup final, Anambra State FA secretary, Jonah Okonkwo, promises a hitch free game, saying everything has been put in place for a successful ending to the competition.Officials of Neros Pharmaceuticals revealed that todays final will be the last to be played at the Gabros Stadium as the companys Managing Director, Poly Emenike, is building a sports stadium in Nanka, which will be ready for next years edition of the competition and other local and national championships.
