PDP wins Bauchi supplementary polls

BAUCHI State office ofthe Independent  National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the results of the re-scheduled supplementary elections held in Ningi and Misau local government areas of the state, with the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), winning all the four seats for the state House of Assembly.A statement issued by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), SenatorIlyaAudu and made available to newsmen on Sunday, indicated that seven political parties participated in the Ningi constituency election, which included the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN); All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP); All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA); Congress for Progressive Change (CPC); Labour Party (LP) and the PDP.The statement also showed that ACN scored 1,594 votes; ANPP, 1,357; APGA, 961; KOWA, 21; LP, 136, while PDP scored 39,084 which returned thewinner, AbdulmuminiHassan.At Burra constituency, five political parties participated, with ACN having 204 votes; ANPP, 611; CPC, 18,374 votes, KOWA, 31 and PDP, 30,662, with Alhaji Bilyaminu Usman winning.The REC said inHar-dawa constituency, five political parties, which included ACN with 165 votes; ANPP, 4,309; CPC, 7,897; LP, 73 votes and PDP, 14,822 votes, with its candidate, Garba Babale, returned as winner.The statement also indicated that PDP won Chiromaconstituency, with its candidate, Alhaji Bakoji Aliyu Bobo, scoring 20,639 votes to defeat three other contestants in theelection which was adjudged to be free and fair.Meanwhile, INEC has fixedtoday to present returning certificate to all elected candidates in the state.The statement indicated that the ceremony was expected to hold atthe Development Exchange Centre, Bauchi, by 10.00 a.m.
