Nigerias construction industry hall of fame

COME next month,  individuals, corporate organisations, governments that have distinguished themselves in the construction industry will be recognised as part of the Nigerias Construction Industry Hall of Fame,scheduled at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.The event is being promoted by Century 21 Systems Limited, publishers of the built environment publication, Construction and Engineering Digest (CED) Magazine. It will showcase inductees drawn from all disciplines of engineering, architecture, building, town planning, estate surveying and valuation, quantity surveying, furniture manufacturing, machinery development, construction and allied services.Essentially, the inductees represent not just the most deserving, but those, who have contributed to local content development, knowledge acquisition, capacity development and expansion including growth of human capital and technical expertise in the construction industry.Expected guests of honour include the newly elected Vice-President, Arc. Namadi Sambo, the ministers of Works, Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Finance and governors of Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Anambra and Kaduna states.Meanwhile, interactive papers on local content development in Nigerias construction industry, power, and professional collaboration in built environment would be presented. The organisers said the event would also witness presentations from state governments who have also contributed immensely and changed the landscape of their states in developing and providing much needed physical infrastructure.
