Published by Guardian on Mon, 09 May 2011

DUE to the tensed atmosphere that has enveloped Kaduna as a result of post-presidential election crisis in certain parts of northern Nigeria, the National Communication Summit has been postponed. Already, the PR outlet had successfully held two editions of the summit in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja in 2008 and 2009.But Timex Chief Executive Officer, who is also the founder of the school, Malam Kabir Dangogo indicated recently that the summit would be held periodically now to drive publicity for the specialised training institute for communication studies. In fact, three series, in May, July and September, had been planned for this year, which may probably be reduced now to two because of this postponement.Specifically, Dangogo appealed to distinguished personalities such as Executive Secretary, Nigerian Press Council (NPC), Mr. Bayo Atoyebi; President, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Alh. Mohammed Abdullahi; President, Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Mr. Gbenga Adefaye; Chairman, Advertising Practitioners Council Of Nigeria (APCON), Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi and others, who had already looking forward to May 16 kick-off date of the summit.
