Published by Guardian on Mon, 09 May 2011

BRAND loyalty is more than just repeat purchasing. Acknowledging the important role true customers loyalty would play in the success of its brand, Panasonic last week rewarded customers with mouthwatering products who were winners in a promo, Yume Mega Offer Promotion, which commenced last year December, but climaxed on April 25.The promo, according to the representative of the Panasonic Japan, who was the special guest at the event, Mr. Kota Mochizuki, was an opportunity for Nigeria consumer to realize the dream of owning a Panasonic brand and thus enrich lives which to him is a manifestation of the companys management philosophy of ideas for life. This is a special promotion conceived to reward the Nigerian consumers for years of patronage. Yume is a Japanese word for dream. For the mega winners and indeed all winners in this promotion, it is an opportunity to enrich lives with Panasonic quality products in your home.To enter for the promo, which was in two parts, according to Mochizuki, required a customer to buy a Panasonic air conditioner or flat TV (LCDS/LED/Plasma). The first part was the instant reward for 1000 winners where the customer was expected to scratch the foil on the entry coupon for an instant prize which includes an LCD TV, home theatre, microwave oven, DVD player and iron.So along with the instant scratch and win card, the customer fills an entry coupon, which is dropped in the Yume mega offer box to enter for the draw, after writing his name, mobile phone number and point of purchase. In the draw, Mochizuki disclosed that to be fair to all, the company made sure that every participant had equal chance of winning, while those who picked the winners were not staff of the company. At the prize presentation, a television scene of how the six winners emerged was showed. The six winners, Babalola Ismail, Peter Audu and Yusuf Kassim all from Lagos, Dr. Kingsley Ekwe, Abuja, Mrs. Jumai Usman and Mr. Samuel Umah, Uyo, got 13 Panasonic products each. This include; 3D Plasma TV, 3D Blue Ray Player, Split Air Conditioner, Home Theatre, Digital Cancorder, Digital Still Camera, Standing Fan, Rice Cooker, Vacuum Cleaner, Steam/Dry Iron, Blender, Microwave Oven and Refrigerator. To serve its numerous customers adequately, the company says it pays a lot of emphasis on efficient after sales service and easy availability of spare parts apart from providing access to qualified technical personnel. At present, Panasonic has five efficient well equipped service centres in the country which cater for the consumers demand for genuine spare parts, maintenance and after sales service. These service centres are located at Ikeja, Victoria Island, Lekki, Abuja and Kano. Panasonic sixth service centre located in Apapa, Lagos would come on stream soon. All the service centres are manned by seasoned engineers and technicians who are well trained in Panasonic centres in Malaysia and Dubai. One of the winners, Dr. Kingsley K. Ekwe, a staff of National Hospital, Abuja, commended the company for the gifts and being sincere disclosing that he has never won prize from a promo before. So when he was called, he thought it was one of those tricks being carried out by fraud stars.I am grateful and it is a really great experience, Ekwe said.
