Sunshine departs for Algeria today

NIGERIA'S CAF Champions League flagbearer Sunshine Stars of Akure will depart the shores of the country today for Algeria to keep a date with ASO Chlef in a group game holding on Friday.The Nigerian team which had lost its opening match to Espearance of Tunisia bounced back to reckoning thanks to positive results secured against Etoile Du Sahel of Tunisia which it held to a goalless draw in Sousse and ASO Chlef which it beat 2-0 two weeks ago in Ijebu-Ode.Team captain Godfrey Oboabuna who was released from the Super Eagles camp alongside goalkeeper Moses Ocheje and Izu Azuka for this crucial match assured Nigerians of another good result.''This match means a lot to us and we are ready to give our best to ensure that we return home undefeated.''We played against them in Ijebu-Ode and we were able to grab one or two things about them which will help us as we face them this Friday,'' said the defender.With four points in their Kitty Sunshine Stars must avoid defeat in Algeria in order to brighten their chances of picking a semi final slot from the group.
