WWE Raw Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from April 18

Published by Bleacher Report on Tue, 19 Apr 2016

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson continued their hostile assault on WWE during Monday's Raw, targeting Roman Reigns and interacting with longtime friend AJ Styles for the first time en route to earning "biggest winners" status from the April 18 episode. The former Bullet Club members injected the WWE World Heavyweight Championship feud between AJ Styles and Roman Reigns with a bit of mystery, leaving fans guessing as to whether or not their friendship with The Phenomenal One is really behind the duo's emergence or if their arrival is part of a bigger storyline designed to carry the company throughout the summer.Gallows and Anderson were part of the hottest angle of the night, and their presence on the show has created a dangerous and unpredictable element of WWE programmingsomething fans have not been privy to in what feels like an eternity. If the company can capitalize on the intrigue and follow up on the solid booking of the competitors thus far, it could finally have a story fans eagerly anticipate the latest chapter of each and every week.Viewers reacted with the appropriate excitement across social media.Styles' complete denial of knowledge of Gallows and Anderson's plans to attack Reigns catapults the story forward and gives fans something to look forward to over the next week. That is what Gallows and Anderson have brought to the proverbial table.Who joined the dangerous new team on the winner's side of things, and which Superstars were not quite as lucky following Monday's show'Winner: NatalyaOriginally, it felt like Natalya was a placeholder for Sasha Banks, a monthly Superstar to be built up and knocked down in short order by Charlotte at Payback. While that is still most likely the case, WWE Creative has done a commendable job of building The Queen of Harts into a credible contender. After months of being left on the outside looking in at the so-called "revolution" in women's wrestling, Natalya is now someone fans can buy into as a legitimate candidate to knock off Charlotte and bring her reign over the women's division to an end.Monday night, she forced the second-generation star to tap out to the Sharpshooter, earning the mental edge over her rival ahead of May 1's pay-per-view extravaganza. It has been a nice bit of a career renaissance for Natalya. Whether she can channel her extraordinary in-ring performances into a sustained push going forward is the question.Losers: Sami Zayn and Kevin OwensSami Zayn and Kevin Owens should be involved in the hottest rivalry in WWE, an extension of their heated "good friends-turned-better enemies" feud that captivated fans in NXT. For a few weeks, they were. Since WrestleMania, though, the program has descended into mediocrity, and Monday night may have been irreparably damaged by questionable booking of both Superstars. On the same night that Shane McMahon announced the much-anticipated battle between the two at Payback, both lost clean in singles competition. Zayn ate a Codebreaker at the hands of Chris Jericho, albeit a rake of the eyes followed, while Owens was the recipient of Dirty Deeds and yet another defeat courtesy of Dean Ambrose. Why WWE Creative thought the best way to create interest and heat for their impending match was to book them to lose as cleanly as they did is a mystery only those with power can answer. What started as a red-hot feud has devolved into a disappointing feud devoid of the intensity that made it special from the get-go.Winners: Enzo Amore and Colin CassadyThe Certified G and Big Cass once again find themselves on the winner's side of things following another inspired performance Monday night. Against veteran tag team The Dudley Boyz, they picked up a monumental victory while advancing to the finals of the No. 1 Contender's tournament. Best of all' They picked up the victory in the cleanest way imaginable, leaving no doubt in the fans' minds that they were the better team.It is unlikely that their program with the Dudleys is over, meaning that Amore and Cassady still have targets on their backs. That may ultimately cost them a shot at the tag titles for the time being, but there is no denying how popular the team is and the level of excitement they generate when they explode through the curtain.
